A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF THE COUNTY OF MODOC
CONFIRMING THE EXISTENCE OF A LOCAL EMERGENCY IN MODOC COUNTY
DUE TO THE THREAT OF COVID-19
WHEREAS, Section 2.40.060 of the Modoc County Code authorizes the Modoc County Director of Emergency Services to proclaim the existence of a “Local Emergency” when the Board of Supervisors is not in session when the County of Modoc is threatened by conditions of disaster or extreme peril to the safety of persons and property within the County that are or are likely to be beyond the control of the services, personnel, equipment, and facilities of the County, and the Board of Supervisors is not in session; and
WHEREAS, on March 12, 2020 the Director of the Office of Emergency Services, Tex Dowdy, proclaimed the existence of a local emergency as outlined in the Proclamation of a Local Emergency due to the treat of COVID-19 as outlined in Attachment “A”; and
WHEREAS, that a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the Governor of California with the request that he proclaim the existence of a State of Emergency throughout the impacted areas of Modoc County and provide or request all eligible State and Federal financial assistance to the County and impacted local jurisdictions; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Modoc herby do proclaim the existence of a local emergency due to the threat of COVID-19 within Modoc County and ratifies the Proclamation signed by the Director of the Office of Emergency Services, Tex Dowdy, on March 12, 2020.
