A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF THE COUNTY OF MODOC
RATIFYING THE PROCLAMATION OF A LOCAL PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY BY THE MODOC COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH OFFICER DUE TO THE THREAT OF COVID-19
WHEREAS, California Health and Safety Code section 101080 authorizes a local health officer to declare a local health emergency in the Health Officer’s jurisdiction, or any part thereof, whenever the health officer determined that there is an imminent and proximate threat of the introduction of any contagious, infectious, or communicable disease, chemical agent, noncommunicable biologic agent, toxin, or radioactive agent; and
WHEREAS, the Modoc County Public Health Officer has determined the need for a local health emergency as outlined in the Proclamation of a local public health emergency signed by the Public Health Officer, Edward P. Richert M.D., on March 13, 2020, hereby incorporated as attachment “A” of this Resolution; and
WHEREAS, the Modoc County Board of Supervisors do hereby confirm the need of a local public health emergency due to the threat of COVID-19; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Modoc County Board of Supervisors do hereby proclaim the existence of a local public health emergency throughout Modoc County due to the threat of COVID-19 and ratifies the Proclamation signed by the Public Health Officer, Edward P. Richert M.D., on March 13, 2020.
