County Counsel, Margaret Long, provided a background on the initial interviews in preparation of the replacement of the previous District Attorney, Sam Kyllo, whose resignation left the position of Modoc County District Attorney vacant. County Counsel Long reported according to code it is the Board of Supervisors pleasure to fill the position and reported the individual who obtains the position will assume the responsibilities as if they were elected for the remainder of the term. County Counsel Long provided a background on the selection of an independent panel which was made up of retired Shasta County Sheriff, Tom Bosenko, Trinity County District Attorney, Donna Daly, and the State Attorney, McGregor Scott. County Counsel Long reported the panel has made a recommendation to send three (3) candidates for review by the Board of Supervisors. County Counsel Long reported the three candidates have been vetted and come before the board with different experience and qualifications. County Counsel Long reported on the process which the board will ask questions and once the board has interviewed the three candidates, the board will have the opportunity to deliberate in closed session. County Counsel Long reported the board could then proceed from there.

County Counsel Long introduced the first candidate Cynthia Campbell.

The Board conducted the interview for Cynthia Campbell.

The Board conducted the interview for Stephan King.

Mr. King provided a closing statement to the board.

County Counsel Long introduced the third candidate Stacey Todd.

The Board conducted the interview for Stacey Todd.

Mrs. Todd provided a closing statement.
